Im tired of being butchered by my local boat dealership on parts. I would like to keep it local and support the economy but they dont even kiss first.

You guys have posted some websites with parts for small older Johnson outboards.

Could you please post the ones you recommend and I will do all my business with them from now on.

Thanks

I know this site has parts, but in my ignorance I can never navigate through to find the stuff I need.

I need a fuel pump for a 1959 Johnson Seahorse, Model number CD-16.

Is there a page of stuff for this model and year. If so please post a link for the "mentally challenged"

Thanks

ROFLMAO. Yea, I know allllll about that! Dern shame, aint it? I have two boat salvage yards close to me here, and they have been my salvation..So I call them "boat owner salvation yards".
If ity were not for them, I'd be going broke.
Try your local yeller pages, and ask some of the big time marinas,if there is a boat graveyard nearby. That's how I found these boat owners salvation yards,by axing around, and phone book.
Also, check into Ebay often. Older parts are often listed, and you can get the sellers name, email him direct, and usually,he has a back yard full of "goodies".
Here is the link....BTW, I'll be slowing down your connection,as I must try to locate a good switchbox for a 88 Merc 15HP. See ya there; http://listings.ebay.com/aw/plistings/list/all/category1293/index.html

Re: OK Thats it.........no more!

Now im no expert on the older stuff, but i think they used the square fuel pump from they stopped pressurising the tanks somewhere around 63 and to 79. If you have a square fuel pump that should be it. Id like to be there with you and a six pack, im sure we could fix it together, but it is a bit difficult. Look at your fuel pump and the kit i suggested. The diaphrame has the same shape as the pump. Does it look ok?

http://www.pfs-ware.com/OlliesBoard_toc.htm

SPUR, a reply to a post I left on Ollie's Board tells me that your entire fuel pump will swap out with 1985 15 hp. Not up to iboats but forum is dedicated to vintage outboards. They seem to know their stuff. Hope this helps in your search.-G.

Just thought the 85 might be easier to find used, rebuilt, or after-market. Ollies board can't compete with iboats, but it is a good site with good people.-G.

Thanks a million. So if I understand correctly, the 1985 model fuel pump will be identical to my 59 and are interchangable.

Just wait till I tear into the carb, dont go anywhere guys!

Hi Spur,
Hunting hogs with a bow from a boat! Sounds like you know how to get the most out of life. The information I gave you is 2nd hand from what I believe to be a very reliable source. I would compare before I invested my money. The top wrenches gave you some web sites that I'm sure would work with you. You can also check my post/reply on the link I gave you. Having said that, I feel good about the information. We'll go hog shooting or fishing either one. G.Dane would love crappie fishing. You DO have crappie in Texas. Don't you?>>>>Life is good!
-G.
