Luckily, the boat didn't cost us anything. It
was given to us by my father-in-law, who bought
it new and was the only owner.

It's a 1983 Chaparral XLC outboard runabout.
It's 19'3" long and has a 1983 150HP Johnson V6
outboard that was recently rebuilt (carbs) and
tuned up (cost $500 total). The boat's
condition surprised the dealer where the motor
was serviced because it's in great shape for an
83. Carpet's a little stained (we're going to
try to steam clean it this weekend) but the
seats are all in pretty good shape. Couple
nicks here and there on one front bow seat,
that's it. I re-finished all the teak trim and
all the metal you see (and don't see) is
stainless steel including the prop and the
tubing around the bow.

I'm curious what I should be claiming for
insurance amounts. I did a little searching
online for similar boats to get the value I've
originally claimed, but I want to see how close
I am with some real world opinions.

Much thanks in advance!
