Back in the 70s North American's were made in Miami. We used to see quite a few around in south Florida. Similar to Ray Hunts' deep vee designs. I don't know anything about the construction but it seems they were more durable than most production boats.

We had a '77 North American S-22. It was our family boat for 25 years. It was one hunk of fiberglass...solid.

Late, late 70's, early 80's is when manufacturers responded to the gas crisis by lightening up boats for smaller tow vehicles.

If the boats been taken care of, it'll serve you well.

Good luck.

--Hise

We used to sell them when we had the marina. Very good boats. I wouldnt be afraid to buy one if it fit my needs.
