Hi spur
The omc part # for your carb kit is 382047. My parts manuals show this motor originly ran a presure fuel system. So if it has a fuel pump it was converted. I can't give you a # if I cant see it. These parts you seek are comman parts. You can order them thru Napa or Any OMC dealer. Rember in the outboard busness these parts are inexpencive not free.

alcan, I have heard this pressure tank deal, what exactly is it?

Maybe thats the problem, but I was told by someone (cant remember who) that it wasnt.

It runs fine in a horse through but when I took it out it acted funny and then just died.

Its got a black "snuff can" shaped unit thegas line go into. Is that the fuel pump??

Thanks

Yea Spur - it should be the fuel pump, if the fuel line from tank takes a little break there before continuing to carb. Pull the hose from carb,, while tank is connected and primerball firm, and try to pull the cord a couple of times. ( you should be in shape now ! ) Does it squirt a little fuel out ?

If you order parts from theshadconnection.com you can see the kits, and a partslist for several models, to make sure you get the right. I dont think Iboats have theese sets, or it would be natural to get it here of course.

Good luck

Re: o"hook a brotha up"

Spur - pressurized tank is an older system where a hose leeds a little exhaustpressure to tank, another hose then leads fuel to motor. No fuel pump needed, but not as safe -a line leak means fuel everywhere !!. The old motors can be rebuild by attaching a fuel pump from a newer motor.

Spur;
It's easy enough to tell if you have a pressureized system or not, if you have two hoses going to your fuel tank, then it's a pressurized system. If you only have one hose it's non-pressurized and must have a fuel pump.

Spur, did you email Bobber? I feel like he could be a good source of information and/or parts. In the mean time,I went treasure hunting on ebay.I don't know if any of this will help,but sometimes it takes a lot of ore to produce a nugget. My time is somewhat limited right now-I'm trying to get a Mercury running before spring gets here. But if you and me and the iboats experts stay after it we'll have you on Lake Granger by early spring. Re: o"hook a brotha up"

Spur, I think this will be the carburator kit we're looking for. Brix Enterprise; part #382047 $13.59. http://home.earthlink.net/~brixent/omccarb.htm

I'm not an authority on OMC and there are many here who are. I hope they will correct me and give you better information. OMC is the worlds largest maker of outboard motors. Outboard Marine Corporation was formed in 1935, when Johnson Motors merged with Evinrude, Elto and Lockwood. OMC has been credited with many engineering firsts, including invention of the modern stern drive by (then) OMC chairman Charles Strang. Companies they own or have owned include Gale Outboards, Lawnboy, and Cushman Motor Scooters. Most modern Johnson/ Evinrudes were produced as "twins", only the names were changed to protect the innocent (sorry, I couldn't resist). Hence the name "Johnnyrudes". This would be like Chevy /GMC pickups, or Norton/ Matchless motorcycles. Didn't mean to say so much to say so little. Got to go work on a Merc. Did you ever drop a 1/2" socket down the exhaust tube? Bummer, man. :confused:
Life is good! -G.
