Re: evinrude 115 not firing
Hello again Tex;
I don't think that you understood my first post. If there is no fire on any plug, then you have to think of something that is common to all cyls. There is only about two things that are common to all cyls. that is the key switch, and the kill switch that your lanyard is hooked to. By unplugging the big red cannon plug and jumpering the starter solenoid you are eliminating both of those. The wire that comes from the control box to the engine has the red plug on the other end. Try this , if you still don't have any spark then you must have a single power pack, and that could cause it. Not being close to a manual I can't remember if your engine has one or two power packs. It would be very unsual for both charge coils or all four sensors,or even all four coils to go bad at once. Something like this is usually something simple that a lot of people overlook. If you don't have a SPARK TESTER, the way you are doing is ok plugging the spark plug into a spark plug wire then holding the spark plug with an insulated pair of pliers aginst a good ground while someone jumpers the start solenoid to crank the engine you can still check for spark one cyl. at a time.
let me know how it comes out
