got both 2 barrel carbs. off......help

Hi,<br /> Tex again here and im seeking some advice.<br /> i have both of my 2 barrel carbs.off and i have them soaking in gas. tommorow my father and i are gonna rebuild them. ... butmy question is is there anything i can check while the carbs areoff.myprob. is itwill not start with the key like its not getting gas.when i took off the top 2 barrel the gas looked good. but when i took off the bottom it looked likie water and didnt even smell like gas. i have replaced the key switch,good compression, and its receving spark so the carbs arethelast the i can think of. i have a 1985 evinrude 115- v-4 vro<br />....thanx TEX.

Gas is not good enough.. Go buy carb cleaner. Check your fuel tank for water. Clean the carb really good. When you think your done........do it again.

You might use the squeze bulb to flush out gas in hose and put in clear container let set for a while and see if water seperates from gas. You will have to hold plunger in where it plugs into motor. Just a thought.
