Well, I TRIED to spray the Tige today. The plan was to spray the flake, spray the blue, and clear everything together. The flake came out great, the when I was inside spraying the blue the paper fell and I couldn't see it. I got blue all over the flake. We tried to wipe it off, but it didn't work well enough. We decided to just clear the blue and now I have to sand the flake back down and respray it tomorrow.

I’m curious about that little 35 year old pwc from earlier.

Is it common for people to restore them? How much are they paying (roughly) to get fiberglass work and paint done on a small PWC?

I would say it's not very common. I've only seen a few of these older styles, and one other that was totally resprayed, yellow and pinkish I think. Pictures of that are long gone.

I don't have any idea of the cost, I don't handle that stuff.

That PWC is a Kawasaki Chicken according to what the super found out. The owner also had a bunch of parts custom made.

Remember that model Kawa PWC when they first came out. It like most every PWC was slow compared to today's model.

You guys do some varied work and seem to be doing it well from where I sit.

I'd think there'd be a market for the obsolete models that don't have enough demand to make new but do have demand nevertheless. Such as the stand-behind kind that's used for stunts/tricks...

I could very well be wrong. I only work in a small shop, don't really know anything about the market in general.

I think I'm fine saying that we're in Indiana, but I can't share anymore in the public forum. Part of this thread was agreeing that I wouldn't try to use this as advertising.

This Tige is cursed. There is a line where I sanded the edge of that first batch of flake that somehow didn't get filled in after flake, 3 coats of gel clear, and 4 coats of automotive clear. So now I get to spray it a fourth time. I want to punch something.
