I don’t have any, but I would leave my investment cars paid off house everything to my kids, which they will get, anyone have any advice? I mean, quite frankly, they can burn my ass and everyone can have a percentage of my ashes to do with whatever they want.

My parents spent a small fortune on burial expenses. Sorry, I just can’t see it. Wife and I will both be cremated and will save a ton of money.
Make sure all of your affairs are in order as probate is a huge pain in the butt. Even though we have a will, it almost is not necessary. We have a transfer on death deed on our house, so it automatically goes to our sons, no probate and ALL of our financial accounts are set up with them as beneficiaries, again, no probate. That pretty much leaves just our furniture, which no one wants. Our boys have already said, they are calling 1-800-Got Junk To take care of it.

In my opinion, burial insurance is a bit of a scam. Too many limitations and too expensive.

Drop $5,000 in an envelope and tell them where it is.
They can pay the crematorium bill, and have a party with the rest.

Dad is donated to the Medical college, they will pick up his body within 2 hours of notification of death.

Mom gets cremated. I'll cover the cost if their accounts are empty (not likely).. Not a big deal.

Be careful with that transfer on death. Can lead to arguments and hard feelings down the road. As long as all the siblings are on the same page, as to what to do with the property after transfer, ok. But if one wants to cash out, and one wants to live there but lacks the means to buy out the other...... trouble.

And check your tax laws as to what happens to the proceeds if/when they sell the house.

In simple terms, our lawyer advised that we leave the house in the estate, then liquidate the estate and divide proceeds per the will.

Wife and I prepaid our burial expenses. It is taken care of and kids know. That is one less worry for them.

As others have noted, just simply make sure you have a trusted friend or family member who knows EXACTLY what you want done with your remains. Pre-planning for this inevitable event is the decent thing to do...takes the burden/responsibility off others. It could simply be as straightforward as, "Here's some money for taking care of my remains." and just say what that is.
If you don't have or want a burial plot, so be it. Cremation is cheap and there's a plethora of things to do with your "ashes". Donating your body to a med school is always welcome.
Much like spending stupid amounts on weddings, I have known people of very moderate means spend mid 5 figures on funerals, ornate caskets, headstones, etc. I too just don't understand that, but to each his own.

Cremation is pretty cheap.
That was my plan, they can split me up whoever wants some chunks, what my ex stepdad did, what is approx cost? I don't want a big funeral, just a huge drunken party at a good bar :) PLUS, MY KIDS GET ALL MY INVESTMENTS , HOUSE, GUNS ETC

Cremation cost is likely a local thing, like boat pricing.
I was a little surprised by what they charge to transport the body.

A few years back my wife and I both contracted for cremation services. We already owned several burial plots if needed for either us or grown children. No funeral and a simple graveside service with a prayer only no honor guard, bugle, or salute. I have attended some for some of my also retired shipmates and yes I realize full military burials are impressive and mean a lot to some families.
