195x Johnson Sea Horse 3 Hp

I have a JW-10 johnson 3 hp outboard that I am having recoil problems with. I need to know how to reassemble it, or if I can get a diagram to help me out. I believe it is a 1952. Thanks for your help .

Howdy, DH.<br /><br />Your JW-10 could be 1952 or 1953, they made it for 2 years.<br /><br />You can buy a manual for a lot less than someone would charge you to fix your starter. You can even borrow one from your library free.<br /><br />Either way, that is the best way to get the diagrams and instructions on the starter. It is dangerous to handle without the manual, safety glasses and strong gloves.<br /><br />Good luck.

Duckhunter1,<br />Go to ebay and buy the abos 6th edition, vol 1 service manual for motors under 30hp. These are old manuals but the best you will find for the JW10 types. They are very detailed and have many exploded views and parts lists of each specific engine. <br /><br />I've owned a 53 JW10 since 1974 and it still runs like new...they are great engines and parts still available.
