I am running a Bayliner Trophy with an Ocean Pro 115 Evinrude. During a recent outing the engine stopped running after 10 minutes and showed no spark at all plugs. All relevent workshop manual tests were carried out and a new stator coil and power pack were installed. The engine still had no spark. Remote wiring harnes was disconnected and still no spark. Ohm readings from stator coil indicated no short to ground. A second replacement stator coil and second power pack were installed and a strong spark appeared. After running about 15 minutes the engine again stopped with no spark. About 2 hours later (time spent checking for grounded coils, wiring etc) with nothing being changed or ajusted, a spark on all four plugs again appeared. Does anyone have a similer experience or a solution to this unstable situation. All help would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Pai

Re: Evinrude Ocean Pro 115

You need a peak reading volt meter to check the stator and pack output. IF no spark on any cylinder, sensor, stator, or wiring. What is model number of engine and do you have a manual?
