Plugs

My book that came with the motor 9.5 evinrude 1969 model recommends spark plugs of: Champion J4J , AC M42K, Auto Light A21X None of these are now available. Book at walmart indicates Champion of JBC which i purchased however they do not seem to perform as good as old plugs. Any ideas if these are ok or should i look some more?

Hello.<br />The common replacement for the j4j is j4c.<br />If you go to the champion website you can get more info.<br />good luck.

The s/plug recommendation for that engine has been stepped up to Champion J6C with the gap set to .030 . I've found that it works out very well.
