SSntb.... That's a heartbreaker to install a new part and have it blow. Using a voltmeter, check the connection on the terminal block where the RED wire from the rectifier would go. It should indicate 12v (+) positive voltage. No doubt it will indicate 12 (-) negative voltage (reverse polarity) which the rectifier will not tolerate.<br /><br />Even if the battery is hooked up properly, there is always the possibility that it has been charged backwards (it happens). If, with a voltmeter, the positive terminal of the battery indicates a negative charge, drain the battery completely of voltage with a auto headlamp (or a item of your choice). When the battery is completely discharged, you can then charge it properly.
