Was wondering if there are rebuild kits around for a prestolite tilt and trim pump on a 1988 Johnson 50hp outboard and what is the bleed down time recommendation. When up on plane every 20 to 30 seconds I have to hit the trim buttom to keep motor at proper position. No leakeage around actuator or outside leakage noted. Not even sure if that is normal operation.

Get the manual. As per the manual I have the Prestolite should not leak down more that 100-200 psi. If it is a hydraulic problem there are plenty of hydraulic repair places you can get it rebuilt (or do it yourself). I won't swear to it but a rebiuld kit must be available. There are dealers on this board who will be able to answer that or call your local one.

Bob

You have a photo of T/T motor? Is T/T motor and pump located on transom beside motor?

I need the wiring diagram for a 1988 50 hp evenrude power trim on the selonids. I took some of the wires off and cannot figure out how to put them back on.

Is the selonoids grounded to the case?
