I am looking at some spare porps for my '73 Johnson 115. The motor currently has a 13.75 X 15 prop. Is it OK to use a smaller dia. prop like a 13.25 or 13.5 instead?

You can try Stone & Sons Marine in Houston, Texas. They have hard to find parts for OMC, Evinrude, Johnson parts. I was able to find what I needed for my 1966 60 hp Evinrude.
Phone # 713-686-9997 or send an email to: stone@outboard-parts.com
Hope this can help you. Tom

That's not such an unusual motor to find props for, I have a '73 Evinrude 85HP and props are plentiful.... there's 3 or 4 on eBay right now and all the major manufacturers make new props for them.

I have the exact same prop on mine as you do and I've been told I have the correct one for my size motor and boat. (17' Crestliner) I would think you could go to a higher pitch (17 or 19), as that seems like it's too low a pitch for that big of a motor, IMHO.

I was wondering about the pitch. This 115 is on a 16' tri-hull. seems to do OK but, I need a tach to figure out what would be the best choice.

Look for somebody in your area that repairs props and ask them what they think.... that's what I did, plus a talked to a few guys that repair boats and motors.
