OK, I've gotten down to the root cause of my problem ('90 Evinrude 110). No compression on
cylinder 4. Meaning Zip. Nada. Zilch.

Any hope for a miracle cure? I just bought it and it ran OK on land, but in the lake only 2500 RPM. Once it went to WOT, 50+ MPH, then back to no power.

Sticky reed valve? Stick rings? Little spooky things hiding?

Please help prevent a nasty situation withthe seller.

Thanks,

Doug

Doug..... It's time to remove that cylinder head to inspect the piston, cylinder wall, etc. Sorry to say that there's no miracle cure.

Any aluminum deposits on that plug? Zero compression makes me think of a hole melted in the piston. :(
