What a great site. I picked up 3 motors at a garage sale and then spent the weekend getting them running.

#1 - Mercury Kiekhaefer Mark 10, Serial # 1070108
#2 - Evinrude Fastwin 15, Serial 15016-18108
#3 - Eska, model 400, serial 1304

I don't know the years or the values. I am guessing that the Mercury and Evinrude are around late 50s early 60s. The Eska?? who knows. Also, in your opinion, which one should I keep to run with my 14' aluminum boat?

Any help with these is greatly appreciated. Feel free to email me. drportugal@msn.com Thanks!

Howdy, DR.

I don't have the year charts on any of your engines, but keep the Evinrude.

Good luck. :)

Your Mark 10 is a 57/58 There was a Mark 10A
in 59.
I understand there are no factory merc. serial
number charts but there are some compiled charts.
Need the model number to date the 15.
Boathouse Marine at:www.boathouse.ohgolly.com
May be able to help you with the Eska.
I think the 15 is a little easier to work on than the 10.But the 10 may be almost as fast as the 15.The Eska is the one to get rid of.
Unless you want a light weight putt putt.

the Old Outboard Book shows Fastwin's with this serial number from 1960 to 1963 in long and short shaft versions...rated at 18 horsepower. K-Merc made the Mark 10 in 57 and the 10A in 58, both 10 hp, and named the trol-twin rocket.
Sell two on ebay and put that $$$ into your keeper, regardless whether its the Merc or the Evinrude.

ooops, I screwed up the serial number of the Evinrude on my original post (since been edited). I went to http://www.marinshopen.se/guide/omc/evin6.htm and there it shows my Evinrude as a 1956.

So, if I did sell the Mercury Mark 10 and the Eska in order to put some money into the Evinrude, what should I expect to get out of them?

Thanks for all your input!

Mike
Seattle

Mike
Seattle
