I have a 1993 Johnson traker pro 60 hp. I have gotten it to run alot better, used to it would run for about 200 yards then bog down, i was fouling plugs and since changed my fuel and remix my gas. The oil injection has been disabled. Well it bogged out on me after around 3 hours of driving (break-in). I tilted the motor completely out of the water and waited around 15 seconds. It was almost horizontal. put it back down, it ran for about another hour, same thing. tilted the motor and it was fine! so could there be junk sucking up against the screen in the carb?! is there a screen? can i just spray some junk in there or do i need to buy a carb kit and rebuild? take it all apart and clean it? when it does bog out, i can push the choke in and it will come alive.

Check to insure the engine is not overheating. You should be able to hold your hand on the top of the head for a few seconds without burning yourself. And insure that the tank vent is fully open -- presumably is if you can run the engine for three hours without problems. Maybe after all that running, the fuel in your tank has dropped to the level that the pickup isn't reaching it.

It is hot, but it doesnt seem too hot. I can touch it but it is relatively hot. nah the gas gauge maybe moved an eigth of a tank in 8 hours. im gettin awsome gas milage. 12 gallon tank should last me a couple of days.. thing is when it bogs out, i can hit my choke and it throws you back in tha seat.
