Evinrude 25hp Tilt or Thrust Pin stuck

I have a 1973 25hp outboard runs well but the 14' fiberglass boat doesn't want to get on much of a plane. I want to adjust the tilt pin to adjust the trim, but it is completely frozen (rusted) in the farthest down position and both ends are broken off so it's hard to get a hold of it. Can I just purchase a really long bolt from Home Depot and put it in one of the higher holes to adjust the trim? Any thoughts or suggestions?

You could it would be the easy way to do it....... Or you could buy a used one off of me!!! HEHE or i could get you a new one for cheap let me know!

If you get a bolt even for a temporary fix, get a stainless steel one.
