broken motor help!!!

i have a 1956 7.5 HP EVINRUDE FLEETWIN<br />WITH A BROKEN MOTOR.<br /><br />THE PRAW AND SPRINGS THAT ENGAGE THE FLYWHEEL<br />TO THE PULL ROPE ASSEMBLY IS BROKEN.<br />I NEED THOSE PARTS AND DIAGHRAM DEPICTING HOW TO INSTALL.<br />FISHING IS REAL GOOD, NEED THE BOAT<br /><br />THANKS FOR ANY INFO AVAILABLE

you could take the motor and put it on the stand, and get a couple of good paddles and row to the fish.. you dont need a motor, do it how they did it in the olden days. dont worry about rowing past the boat launch, those guys never get to fish cuz they are going 70 mph for 10 miles all day long thinking they are going to the fish.

Howdy, DDZ.<br /><br />First, get a manual. The parts should be available at your nearest Johnson or Evinrude dealer.<br /><br />Please don't shout (use all caps).<br /><br />Good luck.

On that Fleetwin, they say in the owners manual that you can take the starter rewind off (Three Screws), and use a rope with a knot in it to start the motor if needed. I have the original owners manual scanned in and would be happy to send it to you. About 1.5 MB.

Look for a used assembly ('50s and '60s models of similar horsepower).
