1964 Evinrude 9.5 hp

Just had the carburator rebuilt. It will run when the hood is open but stalls out when the hood is closed. Any suggestions?

Wally.... The engine is drawing in its own exhaust fumes from some source.

This is a common problem with these motors. There is a exhaust boot located between the covers on the lower half. THe part is still available and will correct that problem. I service usually 3 a year with that symptom..
