re-applying oil injection on 97 model johnson fast strike 150hp

hi there, i just purchased a 1997 stratos 295 pro elite with a johnson fast strike 150(97 also) im the 2nd owner of this boat. the oil injection was unhooked the first day the owner had this boat. i want to hook this back up..is the wire connector the only thing i have to hook up? ...keep in mind this motor has way less than 100 hours on it. any help i can recieve from this will be greatly appreciated....thanks for your time

Put oil in the tank and purge the line as per your factory service manual. Hook up the alarms (wire connections). Mark the oil level in the tank. Run pre-mix as you verify that oil is being used from the tank.<br /><br />Good luck!

You have to reconnect the oil hose to the VRO pump too.

Yes. Thats part of the purging process as well as properly securing the hose. Your manual will take you thru the proceedure step by step.<br /><br />Good luck!

thanks you all....i dont have a manual to go by. btu im sure its easy to figure out.....does this motor need to run with oil inj. or should i double oil with pre-mix and oil injection.....i hear 15 different things from everyone....hate to keep asking these things but i want this boat to last me a long time...thanks again

coanglertn,It is recommended that you mix 50:1 until you can verify oil reservoir usage after Vro has been put back in service.With a marker,trace the level line of oil on outside of reservoir.Guage the amount it dropped as compared to fuel consumption.If it is working you will be using twice the normal oil mix until verified.Maybe a bit smoky ,but well lubricated.

well i really do thank you all for helping me out....i had hooked up the terminal sunday...not knowing about the vro, but i appreciate the help from all of you....i will post up a link so you all can see my boat pretty soon....thanks again
