Can a 1970 Evinrude 33hp be converted to electric start? Is it done by a kit or what? Would appreciate any help. Thanks  ;)

Hi ya' Brems.

Yes your old girl can be converted to elecatric start although I do not believe the kits are still available. The cost may also be more than what the motor is worth. If you could find another 33 with electric start, you could use the parts of it. If you want to do this, check around for a blown 33. Maybe your local dealership could help. Good Luck. :D

OBJ,
Thanks for the help. I have about 200-250 parts catalogs I got at an auction all in a shop book rack of some sort. They are from 1950-1977 and a few 1983, mostly Johnson but about a dozen Evinrude and a few dozen OMC mixed in but of course not the one we need. Got the whole shot for $5.00.
Again thanks for the help!
Brems

Brems, if ya' got a parts catalog for a 33 Johnson, that will work. Same motor, different package.
