Hello,

Do not buy that motor they plain old suck!! They do not last long. To much hp to big... newer 250's or 225 are what you should be looking for

Avery,

That motor has not been produced for quite a few years now. I suspect it is do for an overhaul. What year is the motor? Do you have a model number? What size boat is it on and how do you plan on using it? Rebuilt on a fast boat they will run very strong. Plan on 4-5 thousand for the restoration of the motor. You need to get it for almost free. What is the deal?

I love them! I've had several and raced a couple. Set them up like a V8 (not a V6) and they are bullet proof. The X dimension and fuel delivery system is key.

While it's true that OMC did discontinue selling them in the US they were very much in demand overseas.

Tell us more about the rig. We did a triple V8 deal once. What a blast! A rep buddy was involved in a quad set up.

More info, please!

Yeah, the Florida Marine Police had a twin 300 set-up on some of their patrol boats a few years back [Pensacola area]. They were awesome to see, particularly when they were opened up on a relatively light boat. Just looking at motors this size on the back of the boat was enough to make me idle down when they passed by. Would like to hear more about yours if you decide to go with it.

Really cool engines. There is nothing mysterious about them. They're just a V-6 with a couple more cylinders and associated hardware.
