The Primer bulb on this unit stays very hard all the time. Even when the rig has not been run for several weeks. I have just replaced the bulb on the Oil line and also the Gas line along with the fuel filter. Is it normal for this bulb to stay so hard you can't even squeeze it? I have tried to open the oil cap up on the rig when its at home to see if that would help. I also have noticed some oil coming from the covers on the carburator and collecting in the bottom of the engine area. I keep the OB trimmed up on the motor toter when not in use. Any Suggestions would be appreciated. Also the warning siren comes on when I turn the key to on. It is the continous signal even when the motor is not running. Thanks For the Help

Re: 1995 Johnson 70 Hp Vro Question

Stratosfied <br />There is nothing wrong with the VRO primer bulb staying hard. It should remain firm and there is no need to pump it unless you have disassembled the lines for service. As for the carbs, it is normal for the carbs to leak a bit fuel and oil, especially if the motor is trimmed up. On the alarm problem, look at the block by the spark plugs and disconnect the Bullet connector on the wire going to the temp sensor . It should be a tan wire with a stripe sticking out of the block. If this stops the alarm, the sensor if defective. Make sure to test it with the key in the ON position.

Thanks, I disconnected the wire and the alarm went off. I thought that this would be the case since the alarm sounded with the engine off. Any ideas where I may find a sensor and what this part may be called? Thanks this is a great forum!
