duel line fule tank for old rude tiller

Does anyone know where to get duel line ,3 gallon tank for my buddies old 18 horse evinrude ? i am thinkin they are hard to find am i right ? i dont know the year of the motor , but i once had an unknown model 18 horse rude, was a gr8 little machine. Anyway the man dont have a tank.... can we still get 1 ?

Hi Fishhunter<br /> Yes, They are starting to get harder to find. Your not to late though. You can still find them at G-sales,etc. The trouble is most are in need of a rebuilt anymore. Not too tough of a job. You can still find most parts to make repairs. I would nor mess with the 3gal tank for an 18hp. Go for the 6gal. If you find a 3gal use it for trading stock. The worst part of this whole deal is getting rid of 6gals of smelly rotten gas. I won't even concider taking one for free unless the owner disposes of the nucular waste first.

Thanx for the reply alcan i meant to say 6 gallon tank , seem like someone would make an after market tank for these old motors or some kind of conversion kit for a new tank, if u need to get rid of any old gas or hazardous material the fire dept. usually accepts used petrolium waste on certain days here in okc u might check with yours to see if they do or they will tell u when and where to get rid of it. thanx again bud

i saw some tanks on ebay, they dont say duel line tanks, but sez pressurized,or something like that, is that the same, sounds like it to me but not sure and i never bought anything from ebay kinda leary bout that too.those pics are kinda vague,how about fule lines are they as hard to get also? sounds like a guy could make a lot of money sellin after market tanks and fule lines for these classic motors

Fishhunter, I "think" I actually have one of those tanks in a locker out in the shed. I will check tomorrow and also do a smell check for ALCAN hehe Price?? Actual shipping costs plus five dollars. The five dollars will be donated in your name to David Golding to buy a outboard for his scout troop. Hi Fish<br />You may haave to do some looking, the parts for this system should not be too hard to find, includind new hose. In my opinion the connectors are the hardest part to come by. Never toss one of these,repair it. I like to think of these tanks as a credit card to inexpencie outboards. If you have a good tank you can get all the motors you want. In the past I have even sold a tank and thrown in a free motor.

You can get new double fuel line and o rings for the connectors from your OMC parts counter .

Fishhunter<br />Whoa, checked in locker today, I actually have two of those tanks. Both with fuel lines. One that has OMC on it looks to be in pretty good shape. The second which has Jonnson on it has faded paint and one of the ears if you will is snaped off.
