bad cylinder

iv recently came across a johnson electric sea horse 40 hp. its on a bay liner boat seats 4 i dont have any paper work on it and im a newbie to the boating sceen. i ran the motor last summer for about 30 hrs it did ok but always had a skip and die out to the motor . all in all im not sure what kinda a boat it is/ who made it and the yr i think its a bay liner 64 model here are the #'s that iv gotn model rdsl-23<br />serial z194438, johnson 40 electric sea horse.<br /><br />what iv found is a small crack to the block leaking water from block/ base of cylinder is it repairable can i find a block where would i look its a old nice boat would love to use it more ..thnks kenney litte :confused: sixpackmage@hotmail.com

Howdy Kenney.<br /><br />Your engine is a 1961.<br /><br />You can probably replace it for a lot less than a rebuild but you will get some advice on how to repair the leak without tearing her down.<br /><br />Good luck. :)

thnx JB . so your saying i can "maybe get the block repaird as in welding the out side of the block to seal a small water leak.just as long as its / the leak isnt running through the cylinder. just if the crack dosnt run throu a cylinder
