What is the mixture for a 1962 Johnson 9.5 outboard motor? The guy I bought it from thought it was 32:1 but I wasnt for sure!!

Thanx--
skunkrivapocat
Hey skunk...welcome to the forum...

Mix is 50:1. 16oz oil for 6 gallons of gas. The 9.5's are great little engines. Have had several go through my shop for tune ups. Have fun!
This topic is the most debated on this and other outboard sites.

Officially, the mix was 24:1 for your engine (I was an Evinrude dealer back then). In 1964, it went to 50:1.

Given the change in oil technology, 32:1 is probably fine, but 50:1 may carry some risk.
