I just bought a boat with a 112 SPL Evinrude which runs like a champ (after lower unit seal, water pump and thermostat change). I had it out today and was wondering what a good RPM reading would be at idle and WOT. Thanks.

Chapster,

That engine is designed to run at WOT between 4500 and 5500.

I would prop it so that it runs toward the top end of that range-with a light to moderate load in the boat.

Chapster,

If you buy a spare prop. Drop in pitch by 2".

I would be willing to bet you're running a 13 1/4" X 19". A 13 1/4 X 17" would be better.
