I just inherited an 85 hp Evinrude engine Model#85593E, Serial #J0004926. Can you tell me how old and whether this is a 2 cycle or 4 cycle.

Thanks guys, I just found out that my 85hp Evinrude Model #85593E is a 1975 2 stroke with a 50:1 gas to oil ratio. Any diagreement? Thanks again.

That is correct. If it is the hydro-electric shift, you should sell it. That type of shifter is not very dependable, in my own experiences.
