throttle linkage 58 Johnson 35hp

throttle linkage 58 Johnson 35hp.The tall shaft that sits inside the horizontal worm gear on the engin throttle control has a key way that allows the tall upward shaft to turn.I need the key.They are made of plastic and mine broke.Hope someone can help.

Are you referring to where the steering handle connects to the lever which rises up the armature plate? Or, a smaller linkage that is connected to the carb?<br /><br />If you mean the item that turns the tall shaft from the handle, that is part # 304155 "Control lever to gear pin". <br /><br />Try your local Johnson/Evinrude dealer.

One on my engine was broke. One on my parts engine was broke too. I made a new one out of a stainless bolt (non threaded part) instead of nylon, now I feel safer.
