This motor acts like its starving for fuel at full throttle. You can push in on the primer switch and it will surge then let off and it will surge again. Then it runs about half throttle it seems Occasionaly it runs perfect. Fuel Pump? The primer bulb is between the tank and water seperator filter. Could this be the problem. The year on the motor is 1987.

Dirthog... Having the rpms increase when you engage the primer solenoid would indicate that the carburetor is fouled, clogged, gummed somewhat.

Thanks Joe. I'll try Seafoam or an OMC cleaner first. Now how about the primer bulb, is it in the wrong place?

It doesn't matter where the fuel primer bulb is. It is simply a temporary manual fuel pump. However, you have it in located where they are usually installed.

The seafoam etc...if you're speaking of shooting that through the carb throat, it might clean the carbon out of the engine, but it will do nothing for the carburetor(s).

So do the carburetors have to come off or can I use an additive in the gas to clean them. By the way i forgot to mention this is a vro. engine. Thanks Joe
