1979 Johnson 115 Motor - I was having problem with motor running hot a couple of weeks ago and I checked: Compression and was running 120, 121, 120 & 110. I removed the heads and found that the heads were scaled up bad and cleaned and reassembled motor. I rechecked the compression and it is on at 130,130,130,129. I tried starting the motor but would not start. I used a spray bottle and started the motor with the spray bottle but would not run on its own fuel pump. I rebuilt the pump, since it appeared to be original and still have the same problem. The primer squeeze bulb stays firm and appears that fuel is not being pumped. I checked the pulse port for the pump with a gauge and was getting pulse. Not sure what pressure I should have.

Any ideas?

Did you try to disconnect the primer bulb/fuel line to the engine? Try that- pump the primer bulb
and hold the open end of the hose into an empty jar, can to catch the gas. Make sure none of your lines are kinked. If you have a built in fuel tank on your boat- trace all the lines.

After further checking I found that both floats in both Carbs were stuck. Rebuilt the carbs and is now working fine. Thanks for you response Sal G.
