I have a 15' MFG Westfield Regal with a 1967 60HP Evinrude SportFour motor on it. Boat is v-hull, fiberglass boat. Steering system is the old pulley style, with springs on either side of them holding tension on the steering cables. My prop is a 10x11 three blade.

My motor does not have a trim fin on it, and have been told that this year of motor never came with one. The tab that is below the cavitation plate is and exhaust port and is not adjustable.

My prop when in gear turns to the right, and when at WOT, the boat wants to turn or roll hard right. It doesn't seem to want to drive straight at all. I have played around with the weight distribution and it doesn't seem to help much. Do I need to add some weight to the rear port side of the boat? Not sure how much weight I will need on the port side of the boat. I have checked the hull for any dammage or marine tex that would affect the roll. None found. I have checked the motor to see if it was centered ont he transom, it is only 1/4" to far to the starboard side. I found that the cavitation plate had a slight lip on the front of it. I formed it back into place. My motor has manual trim, so it is either up or down. I took a level and placed it on the cavitation plate while the motor was in the down position, noticed it was to far PAST verticle, so I adjusted it so it was now verticle.

I have yet to take the boat out after doing these few adjustments, is there anything else that I can check to fix the roll problem to the right??
Since my motor does not have a trim fin, would a hydrofoil or trim tabs fix the problem, or would I just be covering up the real problem. Or is this just the nature of my boat??

Hope this is enough info about my boat and motor to get some responses.....
