got a question, my engine fires okay, revs and idles alright, only problem is that when i try to fully open the throttle, it starts to hiccup a bit, only at full throttle, or close to, it runs smooth at 3/4, or 2/3 full throttle, any ideas? i've checked the plugs and the filter, they "look" alright, anything else to consider? thank you

I haven't had that problem with an outboard yet but my motorcycle used to do that.
Ended up there was a little water in the carb.
I took the carburetor apart and cleaned every hole, nook and cranny with carb cleaner.
There should be a screw in the bowl of the carb. Unscrew it and drain the gas into a small clear container. You will probably see a bubble of water mixed in with your gas.
I'm no expert but that would be the first thing I would do because its cheap and easy.
You can buy a rebuild kit with the gaskets or you do what I did and thats just screw everything down a hair tighter. Worked for me.

I'm guessing you've got a blocked high speed jet in one of your carbs or a failing fuel pump.Does squeezing the primer bulb when engine is coughing at full throttle change things?
