I have a seaswirl 2101 walkaround with a 2000 OB 150hp Johnson motor on it. I go out and within a couple hours my batteries are drained if I use anything electronical. My tachometer has stopped working but has a system check within the tach which does work, and does a all systems clear check ie. oil, engine hot,. I have checked the fuses in the panel on the back of the dash and they appear fine. If I go above 30 mph my systems check will go off and tell me the engine is running hot and shut down. I have to wait about 10 minutes and it resets and everything is fine. I can go 25 mph forever and this wont happen. What is draining my batteries? Could it be a bad tachometer? Laura

Check your charging system. See if you have power from stator, then out of rectifier.

check the charging system, inop tach usually indicates a bad reg/rect or related components, like the stator, and wiring, temp is big thing, is your engine mounted to high, when was your last waterpump and stats done?
