Operation Millstone is about to get underway ... and apparently the 59 Johnson 35 has a different prop than the new kids on the block ... the 60 and 66 40 horse Johnnies ... I can get a bronze prop, but arent they heavier? would there be unacceptable strain on a 44 year old lower unit? 44 years! ACK!<br />(at least its older than I am! LOL) also, if I whack something, is there much diff between an alumunum prop and a bronze one?

Weight of prop only affects gearcase when shifting into gear. If you use bronze, make sure engine is idling as slooowwwwww as possible when shifting.
