Amphenol Connector

Hi Everyone,<br /><br />I'm trying to find out the exact Amphenol part number for the plug that fits the 3 pin socket on the OMC control box of a 1989 40HP VRO.<br /><br />I know it carries the connections for the tacho and I've found the wire color codes from another post on this (excellent!) forum.<br /><br />My problem is that I live in the UK and Amphenol connectors are not to be found in the shops over here. I found another type called 'XLR' who do a 3 pin plug with exactly the same spacing, but the pins are thicker.....<br /><br />thanks for any help<br /><br />Paul

buy a tach harness from a omc dealer here and have it mailed over? can we do that?

Paul-Teleflex makes an OMC tach harness..their part# IH14767...? maybe iboats sells 'em ?

many thanks for the help and info.<br /><br />Yes, I get hits now when searching for that part number (unlike when I was just looking for the plug).<br /><br />It's on Teleflex's web site (although they don't sell direct).<br /><br />I'll try to see if there's a distributor over here first (you've got great prices in the US, but I keep getting knobbled with Customs duty when I order direct !)<br /><br />thanks again for the very quick answers,<br />Paul

If you have a Teleflex dealer there, they make a wiring harness for it if it's a Teleflex Tach.<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty

I am an electrical coordinator for a chemical plant in houston<br />All Amphenol products that i have bought have a <br />part # stamped in<br />you should be able to find it at newark.com<br />or give me the # and i will find it for you
