I've just acquired a Boat with a 87'model 70h.p. Evinrude VRO motor. It's been sitting up for about two years. The carbs were supposedly rebuilt before it was parked. Is there anything I need to do to ensure the oil injection system will work properly because of it sitting so long?

If you're concerned about the VRO, use premix until you can verify it's working OK.

Joesboats,If this engine sat for two years in storage and carbs were not drained or engine ran over this period, the first thing I would do is remove and clean carbs. Before attempting to crank engine over ,also remove sparkplugs and prelube cylinder walls with some two stroke oil.Next, drain and replace the lower unit oil and inspect its condition when draining. Also insure that no old fuel is left in tank or lines by purging fuel lines from tank to carb inlets with fresh fuel.Do the same with the remote oil tank.Empty any old oil from reservoir and replace with new TCW3.With the oil inlet line removed from VRO reprime oil line until new oil flows air free before reconnecting. Then install a fresh set of Champion sparkplugs.

I would also follow Wildones advice and use premix until you can verify oil usage from remote oil tank.
