You need to make sure that the choke plates are closing ALL the way. Do what you have to to make that happen. Adjust linkage, or adjust choke solenoid position to put more pressure on plates. It is important that BOTH plates are COMPLETLY closed for it to work properly. You may have to adjust the linkage to get it right.

oops, I missed the year of your motor! You probally have a choke solenoid and no plates. Should look like a black cylinder with a red lever on it. There are 2 small hoses that come off that solenoid. Those hoses plum directly into the carbs. You can check it by pumping the primer bulb until hard, then engauge choke with engine off. In a matter of a moments the primer bulb should get less firm. You can also hear the fuel pissing in the engine. If not you may have a plugged hose or fitting on the carb.

Quin,

Use this starting procedure.

Use this starting procedure.

1. Pump fuel primer bulb until hard.

2. Turn the key to the "on" position-NOT START.

3. Push the key in and count to eight.

4. Release the key.

5. Turn the key to start.

6. Once started, you may have to "bump" the key in to keep it running.

By the way, the red lever on the primer solonoid should be pointing in toward the solonoid body.

Thanks DJ19,I just finished checking the choke out and found the top carb choke hose was plugged, stuck a small wire up it then tried it and she works! Also maybe wasn't choking enough as I was just touching the choke for 1 second at a time when cold,I was scared of flooding it,will try these instructions next time im on the water.
