tilt trim sending unit (fast trac)

i am installing the sending unit along with fast trac system, but cant figure out where a ground wire attaches.<br />-<br />on the sender it has a green wire that i know goes to one of the adjusting bolts - but there is a 4 to 5 inch cable with eye that needs to attach to something.<br />- looked in 3 manuals along with a service accessory manual, but they dont show where this goes.<br />i dont believe it goes to trim motor or to bracket.<br />maybe front power head bolt?. any help would be great thanx.

When you say eye, do you mean ring termial? What year and model of engine? Green is ground and black is ground. Connection depends on model year of engine.

sorry my bag- 1995 225 bracket assembly with <br />1988 120/140 midsection.<br />-<br />its a grounding cable that is inconjuction with the green wire.<br />the green wire is placed under one of the 2 bolts<br />that screws the unit to bracket - then the grounding cable attaches to something different.<br />-<br />thought maybe one of the lower powerhead bolts, but is too short.<br />heres the part # 584176.<br />even looked at t/t assembly - no place there either.

The 1995 wiring diagram shows the green wire having a bullet connector that connects to main wiring harness. The green connects to solid black wire commming from the large red connector. The other 2 wires has an amphenol connected marked A, B.

If none of the above matches, I would connect to anything that show good ground to engine harness ground. Not battery cable.

ive looked at the diagrams from 3 different sources.<br />so i know its a ground wire, but it does have a specific place to connect.<br />-<br />was hoping that someone has replaced one & would know where it attached.

well after reviewing the t/t assembly removal in the 3 different manuals,<br />it shows the ground wire going to the t/t motor &<br /> under one of the 4 mounting screws.
