I have a spare low pressure electric fuel pump and I was thinking of replacing the original outboard pump with, how much pressure can a typical v4 needle and seats handle? (no vro) Any pros and cons of doing this conversion? Sounds like a good idea but it may not be. looking forward to any comments. even125.

My first thought is that it wouldn't offer any benefit, Even.

What year is your engine?

Ok Jb I thought it would be more reliable than the originals and it should last 20 years or more and cost the same as one O/E replacement. even125

An electric fuel pump has a number of safety issues (what happens if there is a fuel line leak downstream of the pump ... the pump will continue pumping as long as the ignition switch is "ON"). There are other safety related issues as well. With a vacuum operated switch, if the engine stops running, so does the fuel pump. I would suggest doing a seach here for 'electric fuel fuel pump', since this topic has come up before.
