I have a fully charged deep cycle battery , when i press my tilt and trim button on the throttle all i get is a clicking coming from the motor, as if its making contact but doesnt move the motor. Also i try to turn over the engine, (its conected to the same battery)turn the key and nothing happens, even as I said with a fully charged battery. This is a 89 Bayliner Cobra with a Force 125 motor. Bad cable?

You most likely have a corroded battery cable/connector or a poor connection.

Provided you are confident that the battery is in good shape.

TMD

Re: Trim on motor doesnt work

I have a similar problem on an 90 Evinrude 88 HP. My TNT (on the shifter) will put the motor down, and only will raise the motor if I hold in the wire that runs down from the shifter. Does this sound like a major $$ repair?
