Hello, I have a 1978 evenrude, that is sucking water, I have removed the exhaust plate and there is no holes in it, the gaskets have been leaking, I do not see ant signs of water getting in there, just wondering if I am to pull the power head, what should I know or look for.
Thanks

I suggest that you put the wrenches down and get the shop manual for your motor. It will keep you out of trouble and be a big help. An alternative is the reference section of your library.

Good I idea, that has sparked an idea here, the plugs are getting carbon all over them too, and look at the lower exhaust ports, they are clean by ? maybe water spaying in. The top cyclinder is cleaner.
http://members.shaw.ca/salmon/
