Re: 1993 Evinrude 150 Intruder - stalls at idle
You do not have adjustable idle screws on that motor, you have to replace the air bleed jets to change calibration. Using the engine model number, the parts book should be consulted to make sure the correct jets are installed in the right holes.

The recirculation valves, hoses, and fittings should be checked for leakage and if the intake manifold gaskets are black colored, replace them for the better brown style that won't distort and cause air leaks.

If someone overtorques the side covers on the carbs, they can suck air and cause a lean condition with spitting and sneezing. Installing large washers under the screw heads along with a new gasket can help. Use a cleaner spray with the plastic tip in the jets and see if any leaks around the side cover.

Running one or two cans of Engine Tuner decarbonizing the motor if it has slightly stuck rings can help the idle in some cases.
