Primer Bulb Location

Where should the primer bulb be located; between the tank and filter or between the filter and outboard? This for a 150 Johnson with carbs.<br />Thanks!

Mine is between the filter and the engine, Dartman. <br /><br />That way anything that the filter is going to stop...water, crud, etc... isn't going to get in the primer's valves and screw it up.<br /><br />Good luck. :)

I don't believe it matters, Mine is between the cannister filter mounted on the transom and the engine. The primeeer is just to fill the carbs before the engine starts and the fuel pump starts working

dartman , the squeeze bulb should be between the tank and the filter[no matter what kind] as the squeeze bulb will pump fuel much easier than trying to suck all the air from the line and a large filter. That's just the way it works. nevjb
