4HP Johnso has no spark

my 4hp was running great and just quit now there is no spark. could someone give me some hints please.

Waldron.... You don't say what year your engine is, however if it incorporates solid state ignition, and spark has suddenly disappeared from both cylinders, the most likely cause is a failed powerpack.

Joe this is a older engine not sure what year but it has points and magneto. Thank You <br />Don

Hi, Waldron.<br /><br />If your engine uses magnetos (there are two) and you have spark on neither your problem will be in something that is common to both.<br /><br />Most likely candidate: Kill circuit/kill switch.<br /><br />Other possibles include the flywheel key, points cam, stator plate.<br /><br />If we knew the exact year of your engine we could be more help. Please post the model number.
