Hello, I had some work done on a 1985 90hp Johnson. The motor was not running correctly, so I brought it to be worked on thinking it was the carb. They said it was the head gasket, so they replaced the head gasket and said it should be fine, but while they were working on it they found out that one of the rings had been thrown through the exhaust. They said the compression on each piston was fine even the one with the missing ring. They said that it should be o.k. for a while until I get the motor rebuilt. Well, today I tested the motor out on the water, and it did the same thing that it was doing before which was bogging down after a minute when I opened her up, but this time when I got the boat to shore there was water coming out of the exhaust. Could this be that the head gasket did not get seated correctly or was this a simptom of something that was already there.

Thank You-
Fishinfrenzy75
