1962 18 hp crankshaft interchange

can you put the crank from a 1962 18 hp Evinrude into a 1973 25hp Evinrude?<br />Thanks

Hi Bfitz,<br /> No, it won't work. You need a crankshaft from about a 1969 onwards 18/20/25 hp model. '68/'69 was the crossover year to the larger crankshaft. They turn up with some frequency on eBay, and I think there is one on there right now from a guy in Canada...<br />- Scott
