I bought a 20' Maxum runabout that has a little beach damage on the bottom of the hull near the front of the boat.. Not a huge deal, however, I am a little picky about this type of thing and want to fix it. The boat is on a trailer and the damaged area is hidden under one of the bunks. Any suggestions on the best way to jack it up on the trailer and also the best products / repair techniques.

Thanks in advance

Jack the trailer up and put blocks under the boat and drop the trailer.

Re: Fiberglass / Gelcoat Repair

I have 79 Glasply with a 140 OMC sterndrive. Well the motor quit while coming in and the wind blew us into the piling. We threw the anchor, but it wouldn`t bite till we were in the piling. It did save us from being dashed upon the rocks though. What I have is two raspberries in the hull from the piling. I pushed hard on them and they aren`t soft, just the gelcoat is starred real bad. What saved us I think is the fact that the piling was rotten on the top and it broke away. As soon as the weather gets better, I will try to get pics of the damage. Any help?

Bob, start your own thread. that way when you get responses they dont get burried in some elses thread. It is a lot easier to follow the trouble that way.
