Problem with cooling!

I have Evinrude 5 hp 1999 y. in blue color.

<br />Like this.<br />1.What the difference in blue and white color motor?<br />2.How to clean cooling passages,becouse engine is<br />not colling,water dont go.<br />3.can i use my motor in salt water (sea)<br />4.sorry for bed english

I am no pro but what about water pump? you have to check the impeller which lives just above the lower unit and gets turned by the drive shaft.<br />Also, check out cooling problems topic on cleaning out water passages.<br /><br />Make that "Evinrude 30 no water from telltale" they discuss water passages .

5cro - Welcome to the forum & come back often.<br /><br />To your questions & your english works quite well for me.<br /><br />1. No difference due to color that I know of. For many years the only difference between Johnson & Evinrude was the color - same motor.<br /><br />2. Replace the water pump & thermostat if you have one. That usually fixes the problem.<br /><br />3. You can use your motor in salt water with no problems. It helps to fresh water flush after use. I have run my motors in salt water for 30+ years.<br /><br />I had a 5 hp Evinrude many years ago - great motor.
